Explore the mountains around San Miguel! Lets go for a Hike!
Explore the mountains and nature trails surrounding San Miguel and discover the impressive variety of cactus and succulents with plant expert and personal guide, Lorena Gutierrez. Hike the Picachos, the northernmost volcanic field in Mexico, and experience scenery and views that most visitors could never imagine. The Picachos were formed 11-17 million years ago (Middle Miocene) from plate tectonic and cinder cone volcanic activity providing hiking elevation from approximately 6-8,000 feet.
Our guests can select recreational hikes in the Picachos that can last from four hours to all day, and that can require different levels of activity/energy. In no case is any technical climbing required. We hike on un-groomed animal trails so thick soled footwear is necessary. A limited number of hiking poles are available. Trail selection is determined based on hiker fitness and time desired.
We carry backpacks in which you can put small items. We provide bottled water, granola bars, fruit and nuts as well as a first aid kit, field binoculars and, oh yes, toilet paper. No pets please
Per person rate is 700 pesos with a maximum of 6 hikers. Single hiker rate is 1200 pesos. Lunch at the Finca can be arranged for 3 or more hikers for an extra charge of 100 pesos.
